Terms of service
Last updated 2026-10-23.
These terms apply when you use Olith. Olith is run by an independent developer, a sole proprietor in Toronto, Ontario, Canada ("Olith", "we"). By creating an account or opening a share link, you agree to them.
Using Olith
Olith lets producers keep versions of a mix and share them for review, and lets reviewers listen and leave notes without an account. During the pilot, features can change and the service can be unavailable. Keep your own copies of your audio.
Accounts
Producers sign in by email link or with Google. Keep access to that email address secure; anyone who can read it can sign in as you.
Plans
Olith has two plans, described on the pricing page:
- Free includes 2 GB of storage.
- Pro includes 100 GB of storage and lossless downloads on review links, for $9 a month or $90 a year plus tax.
Both plans allow files up to 250 MB and unlimited reviewers, versions and projects. Storage counts every file you upload, across all versions.
Free trial
Monthly Pro starts with 14 days free, once per account. You add a card at checkout. If you cancel in Billing before the 14 days end, you won't be charged and your account moves to Free when the trial ends. If you don't cancel, your card is charged $9 plus tax on day 14 and Pro renews every month after that. Stripe emails you a reminder 7 days before the trial ends.
One trial is allowed per email address, including addresses that differ only by dots or a plus suffix, even after an account is deleted. Yearly Pro has no trial and is charged when you subscribe.
Subscriptions and renewal
Pro is sold by Link, Stripe's checkout, as the seller and merchant of record. Link takes your payment, sends your receipts, and collects and pays sales tax and VAT. Your purchase is also covered by Link's own buyer terms.
Before you pay, you tick a box agreeing to the renewal terms, for example: "Pro is free for 14 days, then renews every month at $9 plus tax until you cancel. Cancel in Billing before the trial ends and you won't be charged." We keep a record of the sentence you agreed to and when.
Pro renews automatically at the end of each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Billing, which takes the same few steps as signing up. After you cancel, Pro stays on until the end of the period you paid for, then your account moves to Free.
If you switch between monthly and yearly, the change takes effect at once and the unused part of your current period is credited against the new charge.
Failed payments
If a renewal payment fails, Link retries it, and Pro stays on for 3 days after the paid period ends. If the payment still fails, your account moves to Free. Updating your card in Billing retries the payment right away.
Over the storage limit
If your account uses more storage than its plan includes (for example, after Pro ends), your mixes, notes and review links keep working. You can't upload new mixes, import projects or turn on lossless downloads until you're under the limit again or back on Pro. We don't delete content because an account is over its limit.
Refunds
If you ask within 14 days of your first Pro payment (for a trial, the charge on day 14), we refund it in full. After that, cancelling stops the next renewal, and we don't refund partial periods. See the refund policy.
Price changes
If the price of Pro changes, we email you at least 30 days before your next renewal at the new price. You can cancel before then. For yearly plans, Link, which processes Olith's payments, also emails you before each renewal.
Your content
You keep all rights to the audio, notes and other content you add. You give us a limited licence to store, copy, process, convert and stream that content only to run Olith for you and the people you share it with. The licence ends when you delete the content, apart from copies in backups until they expire.
You confirm that you have the rights needed to upload and share everything you add, including the rights of the artists, writers and labels involved.
Share links
Anyone who has a share link can open what it points to until the link expires or you turn it off. Turning a link off stops new access, but audio that a listener already loaded can stay playable in their open page for a short time. Playback through a link is not protection against copying.
Acceptable use
Do not upload content you do not have the rights to, use Olith to distribute content publicly at scale or as a general file host, try to access projects you were not invited to, or interfere with the service. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these terms, and we follow the copyright and takedown process. If we suspend an account for breaking these terms, we don't refund the current period.
Ending use
You can stop using Olith and delete your account at any time. Deleting your account cancels any subscription first, so you are not charged again. We may end or suspend access with notice, or without notice for serious or repeated breaches. If we stop offering Pro, we refund the unused part of any paid period.
Liability
Olith is provided "as is" and "as available". We work to keep it running and your work safe, but we don't promise it will always be available, error free, or that content can never be lost, so keep your own copies of your audio.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost profits, lost work or lost opportunities, and our total liability for any claim about Olith is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or CAD $100 if that is more. Nothing in these terms limits a right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be limited by agreement.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the place where you live, and you can bring a claim in the courts there.
